The Sycamore project is a 48-unit 100% affordable rental housing development. As an infill and smart growth project with a small ground floor commercial component, it will bring life back to a vacant and abandoned parcel in the heart of Downtown helping to continue the ongoing revitalization of central Brockton, one of the Commonwealth’s critically important Gateway cities. Located just a few blocks from the Downtown Brockton Commuter Rail stop, the site is excellent for new housing within walking distance of schools and proximate to grocery stores, other commercial/retail options, parks and recreational attractions. The project is close to many service providers including the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center and NeighborWorks’ own Brockton office, which is directly across the street. The Sycamore will create 48 much needed affordable housing units serving a broad range of income levels and resulting in a truly mixed-income community.

This project is utilizing the City of Brockton’s HOME funds in the amount of $450,000 and in return the City will have the opportunity to offer 11 HOME-assisted unit to low-mod income individuals/families. The total developmental cost for this project is $22,710,000.
