The HOME program is the largest federal block grant to state and local governments designed exclusively to produce affordable housing for low-income families. Some of the current projects that the BRA is assisting with include the rehabilitation of 300 units at Chatham West Apartments; the renovation of 932 Main Street to create 2 affordable rental units for low-income families and 1 ADA accessible unit; and a new construction of a retail/commercial space on the ground floor and 48 affordable housing units at 121 Main Street which will be developed by NeighborWorks of Southern Mass.
