Brockton Beer Company made a proposal to the BRA Board of Directors to transform this property into a meeting place filled with culture and innovation. Building upon the rich history of the late great leader Frederick Douglass, they plan to bring back the Frederick Douglass building to a level of reconstruction worthy of its name. This project will consist of three phases.
Phase I: Brockton Beer Company plans to implement this rehabilitation project in three different phases. Phase one will include renovating the entire facade of the property. Additionally, Brockton Beer Company plan on completely redeveloping half of the space into a 80 seat BrewPub. This BrewPub will feature outstanding American menu inspired from different cuisine specialties that will appeal to a wide and varied clientele. It will also feature an on site 10-barrel beer production facility that will craft amazing New England IPAs, Light Lagers and Milk Stouts. These Craft Brews will be carefully crafted to represent the City and its history.
Phase II: Brockton Beer Company plan to identify potential tenants for the four remaining storefronts. The goal is to remodel each space into a high quality retail opportunity that will reinforce the current redevelopment plans for the downtown Brockton. Phase III: This phase will focus on the upper floor to create a state of the art STEAM lab/technology center alongside a shared work space. This will be open to monthly subscribers daily. This space will also become the homebase for KodeConnect; a Brockton based non-profit which focuses on empowering kids to code.
